These are the best candidates that this system can produce. And ‘we, the people’ are part and parcel of the system.
Until such time as someone other than the passionately committed (which includes a large number of moonbats) choose to get involved in the nominating process, we are doomed to seemingly eccentric candidates who have to please the looney (but primary-voting/caucusing) wings of their respective parties. Almost makes ya long for a smoke-filled room.
That, and the fact that there are lots of good people out there who could do the jobs, but either a, the got divorced, smoked a joint, made an intemperate comment, wrote an essay in college or other disqualifying tidbit in their life – and don’t want to read the dissection of it.
Not that any of the above are true disqualifiers without context… but ya know what I mean.
