Manish: Bush regularly expresses and links to opinions that are critical of Bush and his policies. How often does Willis do the same for Kerry? Has Willis ever met a Kerry policy he didn’t like or a Bush position he didn’t deride?
What’s more, Glenn Reynolds is editorially independent. Oliver Willis on the other hand is paid to blog by a partisan group. He can’t criticize Kerry and the Democrats or his pimp will cut off his money.
(Edit: that should be Reynolds regularly expresses, etc.)
Technically, he’s probably not paid to blog. He just happens to get a paycheck and blog religiously in a way that plays into the interests of the partisan group who signs his checks. Atrios gets paid by the same bunch, and didn’t reveal that fact until he revealed his identiity a few months ago.
I don’t tow the Democrat line either, and would consider myself non-partisan though opinionated, but I wouldn’t try to sell myself as being independent in some fashion. I’m obviously a liberal and support Kerry.
Wait, someone pays OW to blog? Hope they kept a receipt.

I’d say glenn is an independent who has decided to support bush. Glenn doesn’t toe the party line on all issues.

I’d be kicking myself if I didn’t.
