“And blogs didn’t seem to be real effective. Daily Kos (www.dailykos.com) raised $500,000 for 15 different candidates. Everyone of those candidates lost their respective races,”
SU..I would disagree. Kos only raised money for challengers and a couple of Democrats running for open seats that were previously held by Republicans. Candidates like these are always going to face uphill battles. However, he did raise some fairly significant sums for particular candidates who probably wouldn’t have done as well as they did even if they did lose. One example is Richard Morrison who ran against Tom Delay. Delay beat him 55-41, but it also forced Delay to actively campaign in his district for the first time since winning election.
If Kos wanted to show some effectiveness, he could have gotten behind some incumbent Democrats or even Barack Obama whom he did consider backing.
Thib..no and that’s my point, Kos could have backed candidates that didn’t need any backing to make him look more successful in winning races. OTOH, he was considering Obama when Ryan was still in the race.

Yeah, but really, did Obama need backing? Alan Keyes practically handed him the election.

I guess, although I still think that would be equivalent to coaching the Globetrotters: sure, they won, who thought they were going to lose?

and, I meant to add, who credits the coach?
