My advice
Take Steve’s advice: Don’t argue with cops:
You do not find out the law by reading statutes. Never. It’s a trap. The law is not what the statutes say. The law is what judges say the statutes say.
Read the whole thing. Oh, and keep your mouth shut.

This is eerily similar to the advice my dad gave me when I got my license.
Dad was a MA State cop for 20 years.
Basically, he told me to shut my mouth, answer “yes, sir” or “no, sir”, keep my hands where the cop can see them, and to tell them in advance of any move you’re going to make.

All good advice, but isn’t this a really incredible stage that we have reached: Jason and his wife, travelling all buttoned up on a public highway, not harming a flea….and now they are submerged in a hand-to-hand deathstruggle with a system that is attempting to sanction, imprison, and/or strip them of their rights as citizens.
Every canary is graveyard dead.
