Little help
Given that I practice WECSOG, I am prone to problems. Last night, I (being an idiot) completely disassembled my Crosman 1077 pellet rifle. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyone know how to get it back together? These things are more complex than real guns. While it’s apart, if anyone knows of any mods I can make to up the output a bit, that’d be great too.

Pardon my ignorance, but WECSOG? I’m sure that once you tell me, I’ll slap myself upside the head and say “I shoulda known that”…

Yup, I’d heard that before…
As far as putting it back together, hell, that’s why I prefer revolvers… You don’t HAVE to take them apart… 😉

I took one of them apart when I was a kid, I think. Make sure you find the plastic gasket thingie that goes on the side of the barrel and get it back in properly or it will not work.
That is all that I retain about the topic from 8th grade in Karns.

Oh, you wanna hop it up? Well, first, shoot it in a helium atmosphere. (Greater speed of sound, light gas gun, and all that.)
If yer not willing to go that far, mebbee something absorbent in the base of the pellet, with an itsy bitsy spritz of startin’ fluid (y’know, ether?) on it would run up yer pressure and give you some extra oomph.
Oh, and DANGER WILL ROBINSON!
Starter fluid and/or excess oil in yer air rifle may cause “Dieseling” (that IS why one would do it) and I recall a discussion in the Am. Rifleman years ago, about BATFEcal people getting all exercised about this, claiming that it turned one’s air rifle into a firearm.

I’m not familiar with your model, but if it’s a single pump type, you might be able to slip a washer under the spring to get some more thrust. The basic Daisy goes from 175 fps to 200 fps with the addition of a 1/2″ long shim under the spring.
I tried the ether in the chamber trick with my Cummins Tool PRC special, and while it produced a firearm-like crack when fired, the chrony reported no incerase in MV.

Thanks for the info but I can’t do that until I get the damn thing together 🙂
