Well, that’s odd
WATE reports:
A woman from Seymour has sold her name on eBay for $15,199.
Once the legal work is done, Terri Iligan’s new name will be goldenpalace.com.
The mother of five points out, the name change will only be on paper.
“To my kids and to my husband I will always be Terri. My husband is real supportive. He thinks it’s funny and the kids think it’s funny. As long as they get to call me mom, they don’t care.”

If she continues to primarily use her old name though, she’s not really fullfilling her end of the contract, is she?

So long as the media (old-school & new) continue to cover these sorts of stories, GoldenPalace.com (the business, not the woman) is going continue to laugh all the way to the bank by bucking up for all these “naming” auctions.
The amount of coverage that they get for a measly $17K would cost millions if they had to pay the full freight.

I saw a documentry about this. It was a Seinfeld episode where Kramer sold the stories of his life to J. Peterman and could not use them any more!
Wow, this chick better hope Elane does not find out about this . . .
