In case you’ve not heard, Sandra Day O’Connor announced her retirement. Speculation about others retirement due to age has been bandied about.

It’s an odd standard that figures replacing a centrist with a partisan conservative (or a partisan liberal, for that matter) would be an “improvement” to the court.
The good news is, I’ll be on vacation in Canada in a couple of weeks, and I can start looking for work while I’m there. 🙂

What would be truly ugly would be if Stevens, Breyer, or Ginsburg left the Court (retired, died, whatever) while GWB or another Republican occupies the White House.
Think (Bork + Thomas)^2. Or maybe cubed.
