House votes to allow loaded weapons inside DC homes:
D.C. residents who may legally own firearms under the city’s current gun-control laws would be allowed to store them assembled and loaded in their homes under legislation passed today by the House of Representatives.
Passed by a vote of 259-161, the amendment to the fiscal 2006 D.C. appropriations bill is a considerably scaled-back version of an original proposal by Indiana Congressman Mark Souder that would have repealed gun ownership restrictions in the nation’s capital.

I’m all for free speech, but it ought to be a crime to report on a bill without mentioning a bill number or some such (not you, the Common Denominator that you linked to).
