The NRA is heading a boycott of ConocoPhillips for, well, I don’t know why but I think it has to do with guns in cars.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

It’s about whether employees can have guns locked in their cars in the employee parking lot. Two Weyerhauser employees were fired for that in Oklahoma. I’m not sure what that has to do with ConocoPhilips – but the state legislature passed a law saying that employees could have guns in their cars, and C-P has gone to federal court to try to block it.
Personally, I’d rather not have laws preventing a property-owner from controlling whether guns come onto his property – but I’ll boycott businesses that ban them. And most of all, I’d like to see any entity (public or private) that restricts guns or other forms of self-defense become strictly liable for all violent crime committed in the areas under their control, and also liable for crimes that happen to people who had to leave their guns home because they were going to or coming from that area.

Conoco-Phillips is trying to get an injuction against that newly passed state law. Once Conoco filed, the NRA felt that they had entered the political arena, and were now fair game for a boycott.
