Blog stuff
Apparently, the new template is a hit. Cool. Some folks want links to pop-up in new windows. I recommend you hold the shift key down and the link will pop up as you wish. It’s about 50/50 as some folks think the new window thing is browser-jacking.
Also, the comment problem is solved. I (and other authors) can now post comments without logging out.

Yes, it’s very nice. And your page loads much faster. Formerly, your page was probably the slowest loading of all the ones I visit. One suggestion: Move the “posted in” and “by” line to the bottom of the text. It’s distracting. Donald Sensing moved his up it drives me crazy!

I had it the bottom in the past at the old site for a while and the issue was that people would assume a post written by another blogger was by me. At the top, the problem is lessened.

I always hit a Ctrl-+ as soon as I hit your site. This enlarges the font one step. I think your font size is too small.

also, browsing the comments is half the fun! Please add a “>” to the comments view (example — https://www.saysuncle.com/archives/2005/08/12/blog_stuff-3/ — this view)

XX Y,
The font is standard size for an office memo (or should be). Not sure what you’re getting at with the second comment.

Sorry, your blog software thought I was inserting html tags. OK, try again. Click on any entry’s comment link. It will display your blog entry and all of the comments on that page. It would be good to have a 3 links at the top of the page. Those links should be, in order; previous entry — main page — next entry. This is fairly common on other blogs.
an example, go to this page –
http://www.clairewolfe.com/wolfesblog/00001530.html
and look for the text that says “[Previous entry: “Windows Vista requires you to replace your monitor?”] [Main Index] [Next entry: “Little town doesn’t want telephones”]”
Hope that explains it.

Hey, the first thing I noticed was that new windows don’t pop up. I like that a lot cause when I surf on a PC those extra windows really slow things down.

xx y, ah. I got rid of that because it messed up the layout. Didn’t realize people used that.

Better?

Hey, thanks ever so much. Like I said, reading the comments is half the fun, and that helps a lot.

Black text on white background on a computer isn’t nice (try reading a book with a lightbulb behind every page.) Good choice not having links pop up in a new window – any browser can control where a link click will go (new window, new tab, same window) and it’s a user choice not a web page designer choice.
