Pistol Caliber Carbine
A while back, Cowboy Blob said the Mech-Tech sucked. The Gun Guy likes it. The Cowboy used the Glock model and The Gun Guy used the 1911 model. Is there a tie-breaker out there?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

I’ve read reviews by folks that have tried competing with them.
Reliable enough for plinking, but they won’t make it all the way through a three gun match without a stop for emergency tinkering.

I’ve got to add that the Mech-Tech is far less practical than the KelTec Sub-2000. The KelTec doesn’t require you to disable another sidearm to make it functional. The KelTec folds up into a 16.25″ package that fits nicely into a day pack or other inconspicuous space. The KelTec can then be unfolded and made ready to fire in about 2-4 seconds. You can select which pistol your carbine is compatible with (mine are setup for Glock .40 interchangeability). Notice I said compatible with, not which pistol you need to disassemble. My sidearm sits in it’s holster, fully functional, ready in case a transition is needed.
Accuracy is more than adequate, both of mine group in the 3″ neighborhood at 50 yards. They are bomb-proof and reliable. My first one has over 2500 rds through it without a single failure to feed, fire or eject. Mine allows me to consistently place in the top 15% at 3-gun or rifle side matches at my IPSC club. Last time I stepped up to the line with a briefcase sized gun-case, the R.O. asked if I really had a rifle in there. I told him, “No. I’ve got 2 in there.” (I’d just purchased a second one)
Only drawbacks are two-fold. It is only available in 9mm or .40, and there isn’t a version that will take 1911 magazines. I have high hopes that both of those problems will be corrected someday.
