Happy Turkey Day
First, to the in-laws for the mediocre food. Then to my parents for the good stuff. Hope you have a safe and happy holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

You know, everytime I hear or read somebody saying “Happy Turkey Day, it makes me wonder: Just how many turkeys are really happy today? Even if they happened to survive the annual slaughter, I’m sure they’ve all lost brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, cousins, or other family members.
Instead of wishing each other “Happy Turkey Day”, a cruel and heartless jest at best, perhaps we would all be better off if we took a moment to reflect on the sacrifice of all these birds for our gluttony. In fact, I call for a day of mourning to be held on the Monday following Thanksgiving, a day in during which we do nothing but sit and contemplate those wonderful birds who gave so much to us.

Does your wife feel the same way about the relative merits of her family’s food versus your families food? Or does she prefer her family’s cooking over your familiy’s?

She prefers my parents’ food too, as would any sane person.
