Is gun control about to flip?
TriggerFinger looks at the issue:
The only difference is that it’s all couched in terminology designed to sound gun friendly.
I am comforted by the fact that Bloomberg is only a Republican because it’s convenient. There may be hope for the Rs but I doubt it in NY.

Rs in NY are like Ds in TN.

Our Ds in TN are still largely pro-gun, except that one chick in Memphis who keeps proposing smart guns and keeps getting shot down.

I meant in the general sense of pandering to the “other side” to get elected.

That “one chick in Memphis” (I assume you mean Henri-I-won’t-say-the-pledge-Brooks) joined two other Democratic women reps on the Constitutional Protections Committee to stop HB-0225 by a 3-2 vote from going to the full House for a vote where it had 62 co-sponsors–a significant majority. That bill would have expaned the Constitutional right of gun permit holders to carry a handgun when they went to restaurants that serve alcohol. Article I, Section 26 of the State Constitution states our RIGHT to keep and carry arms for self-defense. Where was the Protection of our Constitutional Right????
But yes, you’re right, many of our Ds in TN are pro-gun. The bill I mentioned was sponsored by Democrat Frank Buck and my rep, Gene Davidson, a Democrat was a co-sponsor, although relunctantly so at my prodding in a phone call to him.
