Hey, nanny nanny
In Maryland:
Delegates in the Maryland House will hold a hearing at 1:00 this afternoon to discuss one of the most egregious pieces of proposed legislation one likely could imagine. HB 140 is a bill that would require all boaters on Maryland waters – regardless of an individual’s age or size of the boat – to wear a personal flotation device at all times while underway.
Groan.

Nice to see we Marylanders are facing down the really important issues…ugh.
Oh well…some of my MSI friends have been putting my lobbying efforts to shame, so good on ’em. The pro-gun bills have a lot more cosponsors than I would have thought…

Ban Boats!
Backfill all bodies of water!
Mandatory PFD’s, safety glasses, elbow pads, kneepads, and helmets for ALL citizens, at all times!
It’s for the children!
You don’t hate children, do you?
Retards.

I’d love to see what they do when a cruise ship docks…

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of states don’t already have such laws. The question is, what’s the “penalty” for failing to comply? The law is likely backed by insurance companies, who can then use it as a reason to limit or eliminate coverage for those who aren’t wearing flotation devices.
