I keep seeing this acronym
I’m such a bad gun blogger. I’m unfamiliar with the lingo. Can someone tell me what the Hell BATFU is supposed to mean?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

BATF is Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (and nowadays, Explosives, too).
The FU stands for something you wouldn’t print on a family-oriented website.

Actually it’s Bureau of Alcolol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Twinkies. They already used the T for Tobacco, so they used the U for Twinkies. I obviously don’t need to point out why twinkies made the list.

Don’t listen to them, Uncle, they’re just trying to confuse you. It’s actually the ancient Asian art of beaning people with a Louisville Slugger – bat fu.
Me, I’m sitting here at my keyboard practicing the ancient Asian art of tae ping.

The FU part is a good description of their attitude towards gun nuts. But for the sake of keeping things family friendly you could always say that the U is for Unconstitutional – ya know, like their job description.
For the record David Codrea seems to have coined the addition of the U.

Let’s put it this way: You don’t want anyone describing this blog as Sayunclefu.

Thanks Publicola.
The “U” was intended to be a homophone for the word “you”, as in “F You,” which is indeed their attitude.
