Troops in Alaska can’t carry
Major General Charles H. Jacoby Jr., the Commanding General of US Army Alaska, has forbidden troops under his command to carry concealed, even off duty and off base, in addition to otherwise restricting their right to arms.
Not sure what that’s about.

I told you guys that the Officer Corps, ESPECIALLY Compo 1 (Active Duty) is infested with Leftists! Everybody laughs when I tell them that, but it is true! I can not believe that Jack Welch was accidentally right about anything, but this is one of them.
Then came along General Clarke, running for president on the “Communist Manifesto = Founding Father’s Values” platform.
Now this guy.
What’s next? Will they make all of the troops drive hybrid vehicles and install catylitic converters on their old muscle cars?

If it was in a state that required a license for concealed carry, I’d continue to do so regardless of the commander’s order and actually wait for them to bring it to court martial… DoD policy is that he MUST allow his troops the same legal rights provided that of civilians living in that state… he has the option of restricting them from carrying (or even authorizing them to carry) on base because it is federal and not state property, but carry while off base cannot be restricted…
I say that this could be fought in a state with a licensing system more than one without, since Alaska has moved to the Vermont system, because it makes for a much more difficult case for the commander to prosecute if the individual has gone through the legal routes of the state in his own time, and paid his own money…
But I’d have to agree with Guy, there are a HELL of a lot of leftist officers…
