I really hope they make a civilian version of this. It’s already a tragedy in my opinion that we have to settle for “civilian versions”. It would be an even greater tragedy if people simply can’t get the standard issue rifle for our military.
I seem to recall some statements after the SHOT show that FN plans to make civvy versions available, but expect to wait 2-3 years due to .mil production commitments.
Not that I have any problem whatsoever with FN making all the rifles for the military until SOCOM has as many as they need.
Longer wait means I have more time to save my pennies, too.

Any word yet on if FN’s going to make a semi-auto version for civilian sales?

I’ve not heard any specifics but since they made a civilian P-90, I wouldn’t rule it out.

I can’t remember if these have ambi charging handles or not; the right-side-only charging handle of the SIG-556 is a deal-breaker for me.
