I think it depends on what you’re doing. Shooting out to rifle distances is a good skill to have, but for “tactical” situations, like home defense after a SHTF situation (like after Katrina) learning how to hit moving targets and shoot while moving are probably more useful skills to have, and skills most of us probably don’t practice nearly enough.
