Liars and those who enable them
Why is the NRA aggressively trying to repeal the Brady Law (background checks)
The NRA is doing no such thing and Diane Barde is a liar. She continues:
It’s time for the gun lobby to come to the table and meet us at least halfway in passing common-sense gun laws
They met you all the way on background checks and you still lie about them. The NRA opposed the waiting period portion of the Brady Law.

I’m so fucking sick of this “meeting us halfway” bullshit! That’s all we’ve done over the last 30 years, and now we’re on the verge of punting from our own endzone.
Halfwy, my ass.
Fuck that.

The bottom line explains it all:
Barde is president of the Contra Costa Million Mom March Chapter.

I’m ok with the halfway screed. Let them give us half of what we want. We’ll meet them halfway on their turf. Their turn.

Halfway means repealing the Gun Control Act, but not the National Firearms Act, right?

“Compromise” is just another word for “capitulation” through “appeasement”. *My* rights are not up for negotiation – that is the very nature of rights. Inherent. Intrinsic. Inalienable. Indivisible. Individual. Non-transferable. Non-cumulative.
Non-negotiable.
The English found out that the problem with the Danegeld was that the Dane kept coming back for more. It’s the same way with gun grabbers: those being appeased don’t stay that way for long – they always come back looking for more.

Since the first gun control laws only started to appear around the turn of the century, halfway means repealing everything passed after 1950 or so.
