Bryson for Governor
I was planning on (again) voting for Phil Bredesen. What’s not to like? He’s pro-gun and a pretty sharp guy. But Roger puts it in perspective:
Brysonites, you do realize, don’t you, that there is really only one reason to vote for Jim Bryson, and that is that every time a lame duck governor sits in office a push for a state income tax is the result. That’s it. That’s the only reason.
Of course, Roger is endorsing Bredesen in that post.

I have liked and respected Bredesen during the last 4 years, even though I voted against him.
However, his rejection of a slate of Tn Supreme Court nominees because it didn’t contain any black candidates is sad.
I don’t like the idea of a Selection Committee, because I don’t think that 17 lawyers should narrow down the 15,000 – 20,000 potential judicial candidates to a few to submit to the Governor.
I will vote against him for the above reason, and for the reason noted in the post about lame duck Tn Governors trying to get an income tax passed.
It’s a shame, because he has been a good Governor, but I believe that race-based selection processes are wrong.

A-RAb was only expressing his displeasure with the ad he is actually voting for Bryson.
