Ranking battle rifles

Kim notes the Military Channel did. Kim offers his own rankings. I’ll be taking the Military Channels number 1 & 2 to Reno.

That was a great show. Made my miss my old Garand.

Eh, the show’s okay. The toys they play with are cool, but the psuedo-scientific rankings just get me muttering at my TV. I wish they would just say, this rifle is great for reasons A, B, and C. Here’s some footage of it, here are some experts talking about it, oh, and by the way, that was number 5.

And having the M14 with its own slot? Please. Combine it with the M1, bump the M1 up a few spots, and add in the Mosin. And do *something* with the AUG. Get it out of there; throw in the Lebel 1886 (Insert frog jokes here) instead.

Speaking of Garands, I can’t wait until Christmas. A few days ago the FedEx guy delivered my christmas present from my wife… a long, narrow package containing a Service Grade Garand. (I think one of the last before they stopped taking orders) I, of course, had to open it to, umm, make sure it was actually there. Then it got taped back up until I get to open it “for real.” 🙁

I’m not sure how you leave off the Mosin, too. Oddly enough, I think the first ones were made here in the States. Ironic, no?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
