Dems Running to the Right
The NYTimes reports that the big-tent Democrats now have room for righty candidates, most notably some people who take gun rights seriously.
Democratic officials said they did not set out with the intention of finding moderates to run. Instead, as they searched for candidates with the greatest possibility of winning against Republicans, they said, they wound up with a number who reflected more moderate views.
I have a friend who believes this country is going to hell. He sees the left-right schism getting wider and says it will eventually break out into civil war. I tell him there can’t be a civil war between right and left for one simple reason: the left has no guns. Bless his heart, his response is always “I’m trying to change that.”

You think the Crips and Bloods are voting Republican?

Is there a serious candidate (chance of winning as opposed to a fringe party) in either major party who is running this year who supports any kind of gun control? I’m not seeing that as an issue because I honestly believe it is ‘out of the threshold’.
I may be missing an ad somewhere, but I’m sure not hearing it any of the races I’m paying attention to..

Crips and Bloods are criminals–they want law-abiding citizens to be disarmed–by the politicians.

Apparently you’ve never been to a Democratic GOTV drive 🙂

The acid test of this newfound Democrat respect for the Second Amendment will occur when Speaker Pelosi brings up the AW Ban renewal for a vote. Alot of these “moderates” will be forced to choose between satisfying party brass and getting re-elected in 2008.

Yep Captain,
The Nazi-Commie Dems, if they take control, will really push the so-called “AW” ban. That will separate the gun-rights Dems from those who just SAY they “support the 2nd Amendment”. And Republicans too. George W. Bush supports the semi-auto weapons ban–although from the tall grass–politically speaking.
