Speaking of blog issues and comments and whatnot, if you trackback the site, try a link. In fact, it annoyed me so much it’s now a setting. If you ping, it will look for a link. No linky, no trackbacky.
Also, anyone notice that the big dick/erectile dysfunction spam that floods our inboxes now comes with a religious theme and bible quotes?

I’ve never bothered reading them before — they don’t apply to me 😉 — but I’ll start just to see what scriptures they’re quoting. Could be hilarious.

“Praise the Lord and pass the Viagra.”
Not Biblical, but some people would prescribe to it…

Yes, indeed. Usually, the subject of the message makes it look like God spam, but the body of the message is Member spam.

Your big dick spam comes with bible quotes becuase somebody is profiling you. They are guessing, based on some info they have associated with your email address, that your normal email stream includes god stuff. The association in question might be as simple as stereotyping gunnies as fundies. It’s an attempt to (1) get the message past your spam filter and (2) pollute your spam filter by making it harder to distinguish between future spam and ham messages.
I’m not that into myths and imaginary creatures, and my email addresses are associated with other subjects. One email address gets mostly software freedom stuff. Another gets art stuff.
It’s interesting and pretty sophisticated. I’m sort of curious as to whether my bayesian filter will reach that tipping point where it can’t tell what’s spam or not.
