That was one of the stupidest, biased articles I have ever seen. For someone who says they were in the military and has handled firearms, and done hunting, he is amazingly ignorant of what he is talking about.
Just my opinion.
He seems to be one of those highminded individuals that believes himself oh so superior.” I can handle guns, but most of the people are to ignorant and to crazy, certainly not those of you reading this, but you know who.”
Okay this little artical reminds me of a cartoon at a gun shop that my father goes to. It is on the door as you walk in. I will describe it for your, it is one Red coat and a colonial both holding rifles, the red coat ask the colonist “Why do you need an assault rifle?”. I think that sums up what the 2nd Amendment means to me, which is to say it is not only about hunting. But about protecting.
“Democracy, otherwise known as the right of irresponsible people to do whatever the hell they please within the law, relies heavily for its success on the maturity, good sense and good will of the adult individual to succeed. I find little evidence that the majority of the citizenry of the United States and other Western cultures even comes close to being able or willing to deal with this responsibility.
For sure, there are thousands of ethical, strong, upstanding people who are capable of being entrusted with this freedom. But there are millions of others who see democracy only as carte blanche to pursue whatever selfish whim passes through their vacuous brains.”

As to your comment on the First Amendment: Senator McCain and a lot of our other elected “servants” seem to think so.

That’s got to to be right out of Mein Kampf.
