Rated R for Retarded
The AMA wants movies that feature smoking to be rated R. Bob Krumm says we shouldn’t stop there, let’s restrict any movie that shows unsafe behavior.

Would “movies that show unsafe behavior” include those that depict humans interacting with benevolent, kind and loving wild animals?

Does Gregory Peck have a Krag in that picture?
Also, I heard about this on the radio. I don’t care for this idea. The only positive thing I can say is that at least they are working with the MPAA instead of seeking legislation.
Under this you can have smoking in a movie and not have it rated R unless there is a message in the movie on the negative impacts of smoking or an advertisement before it doing the same.
How hard would it be to extend this to guns? You can have a gun in your movie and not have it rated R as along as you show the victim shoot themselves while trying to defend themselves ; or you have a commercial that says that people are
4322 times more likely to hurt themselves or a family member than a criminal when they own a gun.
