Zumbo Jumbo – another update
Countertop points out that Outdoor Life has been giving some coverage to the American Hunters and Shooters Association, which is an anti-gun group disguised as a pro-gun group.
He advocates that you call Outdoor Life:
Anyway, I would suggest ALL Outdoor Life subscribers call customer service today.
1 800 365 1580
Press 0 and speak with an operator.
Lets flood them with telephone calls too.
While you have them on the line:
* Complain about this gun banning bigot and demand that OL addresses the issue in their (much more widely read) print edition.
* Complain that the magazine over the last few months has also been too willing to run press releaseses (sic) from ASHA (American Hunters and Shooters Association – Ed).
* Demand that along with publiclly(sic) distancing itself from Zumbo in print, that they need to come out and definitivly (sic) state
1. OLs position on the 2nd Amendment and
2. Publicly expose ASHA as the frauds they are with a focus on the legacy of bigotry and lies its leaders have espoused (in a major cover story would be ideal).

thanks.
as for the typos, that would be the reason I asked about spell checkers the other day. What with the baby thing and all I still haven’t managed to install the google checker yet.

countertop, I thought you were using wordpress 2.1 with one built in. Regardless, you didn’t even look, did you?
(Not trying to give you a hard time, I’ll bet your pretty busy right now.)

SM – I actually went and loaded the Google Tool Bar today.
Very good help.
As for this post, I’ve updated my original post. While they had run a number of things in the past quoting the AHSA, in fairness to OL – the December 2006 issue includes a one page piece on the anti second amedment connections of the AHSA board of directors. Actually, it is a bit of an interview with a blogger (Gun Law News, maybe, I don’t have it in front of me)
Anyway, I think all things considered, I probably over reacted on this one (and as I said, updated my post).

CT, this page seems to imply that a spel chekr is built right in to WP2.1. I don’t know, because I’m still running 2.0.7

Sm,
I have no idea what version of word press I am running. I will check with the person who installed it though

2.1, which we’re now both on since today they are upgrading PHP and the warning said my site wouldn’t work anymore. However, I have yet to post using it. Just the upgrade was pain in the ass enough not make me want to explore it last night.

countertop, I could tell you have 2.1 because it’s in the headers of every page your blog serves. Navigate to your blog page and hit Ctrl-U (this works in both Firefox and IE, and perhaps other browsers)
I would not recommend anything below version 2.0.7 because below that, they are vulnerable to cross site scripting attacks (of which I know only a tiny bit about)
I’d have upgraded to 2.1, but I remember how horribly buggy 2.0.1 was. 2.1 was a near total rewrite of the code, so I expect some patches soon.
