Balloons
In the event you ever decide to break into my home, bring a balloon.
Politically Incorrect Dog has some rather odd idiosyncrasies. One of those is that he is terrified of balloons. If you wish to keep him out of a room, put a balloon in it. Or you can keep him confined by placing balloons in doorways.
In the event he can’t avoid balloons and is in their proximity, he tucks his tail, ears down, and issues a low growl while staring at it. All traits of a spooked pup.
Since we have kids, we’re now buying a lot more balloons than before so he’s having a rough time.
Just find it odd, is all.

One of our cats is scared of things that stare at him, including some balloons. ‘Regular’ balloons are ok but anything with a face may get to him.

the moment that pup figures out that the loud and scary “pop” won’t really hurt him, he’ll be death on rubber spheroids. just you wait.

I doubt the SWAT team would bother; it’s easier to just shoot him. 😉

I actually have known a couple of people that are afraid of balloons as well.

Sounds like Christian Trejbal around guns.

Sound refractor or reflector. I bet pooch is hearing noise off the ballon, or has, and is suspicious. Once he dicides to taste one the pop will scare him, but if he’s smart he’ll get over that.
My German Shepard never got over being surprized they pop. Funny.

One of my two dogs is afraid of the hula hoop. I bought it to try to teach him to jump through the hoop (he loves to run and jump) but he’s terrified of the thing. When I was building my fence, I wasn’t sure how to build a gate, so for about two weeks, there was just an opening where the gate was supposed to be. I propped up the hula hoop there, and he never left the yard.
(The other dog loves to jump through the hoop…)
