Gun ban in Nashville
Why not just put up a sign that says: We’re defenseless. Rob us please. Via Terry and Blake (who is back), comes this:
Some people in a Nashville neighborhood are furious over a new rule that makes it illegal to own a gun. [in other news, home owners associations can make laws? I mean, seems you’d just be in violation of their rules not the law – Ed.]
Residents in Nashboro Village said it’s unconstitutional and leaves them defenseless.
Two weeks ago, residents received a from their homeowners’ association indicating that guns are not allowed on the property.
So, the pressure came and the association caved:
Officials with Ghertner and Company, the property manager at Nashboro Village, would not make an on-camera comment about the gun policy but said they plan on changing the rule soon to allow firearms on the property.
Good.

In the wake of the Parker decision and all the torpedos amidships that the gun control movement has taken in very public fashion…
What the HELL were those idiots thinking? They really thought they’d get away with telling someone they couldn’t have a gun in their home? Crikey.

People this stupid really need to be prosecuted. As it is, the only effect we’re seeing is that stupid people think they can get away with any gun ban as long as they say they plan to change it sooner or later.

Hey, if the article is right, then soon residents can own guns, but it’s still going to be illegal to actually use them!

I have never understood the whole “homeowners association” thing, anyway.
Like I want someone else telling me what to do on/with my property. The .gov does that way too much anyway.

I don’t think this is a homeowners association – it is an apartment complex, and the management company is banning firearms. I looked up the complex on an apartment recommendation site, and apparently it was once a decent place to live but has deteriorated into a crime-laden cesspool.
No wonder the residents want the option to have a gun for protection…

and apparently it was once a decent place to live but has deteriorated into a crime-laden cesspool.
So the idea to make the cesspool better is to make it a no-defense zone? Smaaart. That will make it better.
Isn’t this the idea behind “Whack a Mole”? What if the Mole doesn’t want to get whacked?

Actually, a “rule” from a Home owners association has no force of law. The worst they could do, assuming they found out you own a gun, and keep it on the property (i.e., in your own home) is TRY to have you evicted. But I have a feeling, any Tennessee court this case might come to, would likely laugh it right out.

I’ve lived in quite a few apartment complexes with “no guns” policies (including my college dorm), and they weren’t very effective at keeping me from owning and carrying my guns.
The problem with policies is that they are just policies. I’ve got a “no asshole” policy, but thats not effective either.

If it was me, I’d sit on my front porch every morning cleaning my guns just to piss on their parade. Wankers.

JustDoIt, I hate to be picky but you have maligned wankers everywhere. At least wankers know what they are doing…….and why.
