Interesting. I wonder why wood? Looks like the baffles were machined individually and then pressed into the tube. I would run it wet to keep the wood cool. Also, seeing the holes in the barrel, it looks like it’s integrally suppressed. Probably a .22. Any more details? Jack.
Not sure it would work very well; it would have to be an extremely dense, treated, hard, wood. You could not really wet it down, or there would be expansion problems. I would think if you wanted a lightweight non-metallic silencer, something from high temperature plastic or a carbon-fiberglass composite would work best.

Looks like it would make a great 5th anniversary present.

The image looks like a CAD rendering to me, it doesn’t look like a picture of a physical object.

Comedian – I think you are right on. The wood grain doesn’t look like it’s a cutaway. Jack.

Cool gallery. Looked around the rest of the gallery. There’s one very odd specimen in the “Personal Projects” section.

The idea is to trap and cool the gasses behind the bullet. Aluminum baffles are best for this if they can take the heat. Jack.

That’s a 3D mockup, no doubt about it… the tiling textures and faked highlights are signs of a rendering. Nice idea though.
