I’d like to know who the brainiac was who thought it would be a good idea to commission such a silly study. Maybe they can follow up with an apples-to-apples comparison, asking what percentage of Zonies think it should be (1) legal to clean, load or otherwise service your firearm while driving or (2) illegal to have a cell phone anywhere in the car except maybe locked in the trunk, with the battery physically removed.
Here is the problem:we have too many CA transplants. If you asked the question 10 years ago, I doubt you’d see more than 20% say loaded firearms should be illegal in your privately owned auto.
An unloaded weapon is as good for personal protection as…well…a small hammer? But not the claw type.
I’ve heard people argue that the “reckless driving” law (ARS 28-693) already applies to cell phones.
I certainly think that cell phones–in the wrong hands–are dangerous. But not every cell phone user is irresponsible; there are those of us who can, in fact, drive AND talk at the same time. Some people, namely those who are incapable of safely using a cell phone and driving, are just bad drivers.
Studies have shown that driving while talking on a cellphone takes your focus away from the road at a similar level to driving while intoxicated. Saying that you can talk and drive at the same time is similar to saying that you can have get drunk and drive afterwards. And who are these 37% of the people who think texting while driving is o.k.?

We need less legislation, not more.

As it should be.
The took the poll around NAU, which is the most liberal place in the state; and they still only got a 48% anti-gun response.
