Im in ur fonz, tappin ur callz

Last year, our government received 2177 applications for secret warrants to spy on people in America. They granted all but one. And that one was only denied in part.

It’s ok that the gov rubberstamp spying on us because the people empowered to invade our privacy are all trustworthy. Oh wait.

A March audit by Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine concluded that some FBI agents had demanded personal data without official authorization, and improperly obtained telephone records in non-emergency circumstances. It also found that the FBI for three years underreported to Congress how often it used national security letters to ask businesses to turn over customer data.

Is the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court a real court?

The article goes on to talk about (additional) snooping without court approval.

Why don’t the Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress exercise some responsibility by passing legislation to repeal the Patriot Act?

If they tried, they may just muster a veto-proof majority.

You know, that’s a really good idea. I’m sort of ashamed that I didn’t think of it. My first thought is that I should agitate in that direction, but my second thought is that the Democrats are way too spineless to actually do anything. Oh well. I guess I’ll try anyway.

Most of you here probably have realized that I am much more conservative than the average on this site. Yes! It’s true. However, I opposed the Patriot Act before it passed and would like to see it repealed. It does not meet the criteria necessary to be allowed in a free society. Much like the BATFE.

I am not a social conservative, btw. I am a political conservative. Not many know the difference. Even a lot of self-described conservatives don’t realize politically they are liberal and only socially conservative.

Those were the liberal people that pushed and got the Patriot Act, though the slight majority may have described themselves as conservative, they were wrong. A political conservative cannot justify the Patriot Act. So, BH, I hope we are successful and do away with this abomination on a free people

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
