Gun maker Les Baer is leaving Illinois due to it’s gun laws. Now, if we could get S&W out of MA and Springfield & Rock River out of Illinois.

I’ve got a RRA receiver and a Springfield XD. Always has baffled me they came from the Peoples Republic of Illinois.

S&W ain’t moving. They covered that at the factory tour last week. Apparently the company that bought them back from the Brits had hinted at moving to Arizona, but S&W would have no part of it.
It’s not just the technology and machines that make Smith & Wesson such a great company. It’s the people working there, many on their third and fourth decades with the company. Most wouldn’t relocate to AZ. Heck, most wouldn’t relocate to NH or VT.
Smith & Wesson realizes that, without their current workforce, their product will suffer mightily…
I need to buy another S&W soon… 🙂

AFT!
I have no idea why any gun makers remain there (or why my inlaws stay there for that matter).

When the opportunity for us to leave Illinois arose 9 years ago, the gun laws were the factor which clinched the decision.

Don’t be so harsh, if Chicago burned down again our state would be great. A new Chicago fire would kill like, 14% of corrupt politicians worldwide.
