More Martial Law
Wow:
Under Curran’s plan, the mayor could declare “public-safety-act zones,” which would allow police to close liquor stores and bars, limit the number of people on city sidewalks, and halt traffic during two-week intervals.
Police would be encouraged to aggressively stop and frisk individuals in those zones to search for weapons and drugs. […]
Nutter’s proposal also calls for curfews in crime-plagued neighborhoods.
This isn’t in Iraq, this is in freaking Baltimore. The adjudicated mentally defective err lunatics are running the asylum.
Update: Wow, perspective from PGP:
A couple of days ago, there were 15 shootings in 24 hours.
Maryland gets rated an A- from The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership.

Imagine a city that marks it’s very worst neighborhood with flashing blue lights on poles. Now imagine those poles having “crime fightin'” cameras manned by volunteers around the clock. Now imagine an Orwellian slogan posted throughout the city – “Baltimore Police Believe 24/7.”
Now imagine a city full of people so removed from the concept of self-defense that they would beg that the police put one of those cameras with flashing blue lights in their neighborhood, such that crime would move to someone else’s neighborhood.
Welcome to Baltimore.

Me and the wife were on a cruise once. We met this couple from Baltimore and the hubbie was a cop. Nice folks. We were talking one night and he basically told me that on his beat, everyone stopped was searched for guns/drugs. I said something to the effect of Well, I’m in Tennessee. We all have guns. And that’s perfectly legal. And a look of abject terror came over him.

Why won’t criminals obey gun control laws? Don’t they care they are breaking the law? Oh wait, that may be why they are referred to as criminals?
Welcome to Baltimore. Indeed.

MD is very insular…most of the ninnies who don’t think private citizens should carry are completely oblivious to the fact that 40+ states do just that without problems.

This sounds bad for Maryland. I saw an article on WND about a recent executive order that appears much worse than this since it’s Federal. Seems like anything under the guise of “Security” gets a free pass. I, for the life of me, can’t understand why this hasn’t received received more press…

With one signature, the president has effectively made null & void all governmental checks & balances.
I heard the author of the article on the radio discussing that this could grant presidential directed gun confiscation!
