Seems the state of Tennessee will soon require ID for all alcoholic beverage purchases. Wow. Isn’t it already illegal to sell to underage people?

Have them fill out a form 4473, too, take fingerprints, get a medical history and profile, a sign-off from a local law enforcement officer, and call in a NICCS check. Then we’ll be safe, because, as has been proven, people will only buy alcohol from licensed vendors and in accordance with all restrictions and requirements.
All I’m asking is for some common sense alcohol control. Surely you’re not opposed to common sense, are you?

I asked for ID repeatedly when I jockeyed a cash register. The local PD where I worked went out of their way to send under age stooges to try to buy booze or cigarettes. The only time I didn’t ask for ID was if someone was obviously of sufficient age.
