Investigators had not yet discovered the bodies of pro wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and their 7-year-old son when someone altered Benoit’s Wikipedia entry to mention his wife’s death, authorities said.
Authorities said Thursday they are trying to determine who altered the entry on the collaborative reference site 14 hours before authorities discovered the bodies of the couple and their son.
Benoit’s Wikipedia entry was altered early Monday to say the wrestler had missed a match two days earlier because of his wife’s death.
A Wikipedia official, Cary Bass, said the entry was made by someone using an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where World Wrestling Entertainment is based.

Sounds like someone had knowledge of the content of the text messages Benoit sent from his phone. Still doesn’t make sense to modify the Wiki post. Damage control?

Steroids in Wrestling? I don’t believe it.
WWE is all about suspension of disbelief. I remember a guy getting really mad at me when I joked how fake wrestling was. He said, “It’s real man, I’ve been there up close”.
Playboy had a piece on Vince McMahon in the early 90’s that was devastating. Talked about drugs, girls, steroids, the whole nine yards. I have tried to find it on the Internet but have not been able to.
It’s isn’t even a sport. As a publicly traded company I think WWE may be in for some hard times. Some of the older wrestlers are in bad shape.

Oh, I used to go, before there was a WWE. Monday nights at the Mid-South Coliseum. Jerry Lawler, Jackie Fargo, Bill Dundee, Jerry Jarrett, Tojo Yamamoto and all the rest.
Good times at the Redneck Dinner Theater. Yes, even back then we knew it was fake.
Now it’s a steroid shooting freak show, although I must admit, the female rasslers are much better looking than the ones back then.
