The War on Gambling
Neteller founder pleads guilty to, err, not quite sure what:
The co-founder of NeTELLER pleaded guilty today to a charge of criminal conspiracy.
Stephen Lawrence admitted in court today that the operation illegally helped Americans place bets online, “I came to understand that providing payment services to online gambling Web sites serving customers in the United States was wrong.”
Neteller is a means of transferring funds online, rather like paypal.

This whole net gambling issue is a crock of crapola! My US Representative has already given two different answers as to why she supports the legislation and voted for it. She doesn’t understand that this is a FREEDOM issue. We don’t need the nanny state bustin’ our chops and outlawing internet poker. This law made it more difficult but I haven’t missed a minute of my regular play, I just had to change sites.

I wonder how many handshakes there were in boardrooms of the gamblig corporations, both Indian and otherwise, on hearing this news. I’m willing to BET (excuuuuuse me for the thought) that some $$$ changed hands to keep the pressure on the US Attorney to prosecute this scapegoat.
