If this went through and I was a member of that club, I would see to it that everything that the club had done to improve the building over the 77year tennency was removed, down to the nails in the walls for picture holders.

Well, there’s another location, Philadelphia, that’s on my list of places NOT to visit.

One of the local groups I belong to posted information regarding the city of Garland, Texas and an attempt by one of the city councilmen to close down the Garland Public Range, in existence since 1969.
The area is in a prime area for imminent development as the Hwy 190 corridor is coming through nearby.

Pretty light on details. I don’t like to see any rod and/or gun club close it’s doors but what’s going on here? Has the city decided to rent the space to the Misguided Mothers March?

Ah, OK well it seems that the guess is that the Philadelphia Prison Guards are suspected of wanting exclusive use of the property, or that’s what I get from a quick scrape.

I was looking at the message board, and it looked like a month before some bloke had a lot of guns stolen out of his car while staying in a nearby motel for a shoot. If that was reported to the police, I wouldn’t be shocked if that prompted the city to evict.
Completely unfair to punish the club because of the actions of one guy who should have known better than to not bring the guns into the room, but that’s how the city thinks. It’s the guns, after all, not the criminals.
