Where is the middle ground on gun issues? I’m not sure but I do know that it is not where anti-gun groups, politicians, and editorial boards tell me it is.

These people’s brains might pop when they realize that, compared to folk like JPFO or local groups, parts of the NRA are the middle ground.

In my mind, it’s the “just enforce the laws on the books” crowd.
That’s where (I think) most non gun-nut types are. Joe and Jane Average, if you will.

It’s about half way between the firing line and the targets. Not a good place to be.

Between the first and third amendment to the constitution, everything else regarding gun laws is extreme.

I’m pretty sure I occupy middle ground on gun issues.

I’d say the middle supports shall-issue, riddle with all the usual exceptions (schools, malls, restaurants, places that serve alcohol, churches that don’t, etc.), while supporting background checks, bans on ugly guns, etc.
