Empty Holster
Seems some college students are protesting limits on concealed carry at their schools by wearing empty holsters. Rustmeister talks about it here and here. Meanwhile, Kelly has her doubts about campus carry.

This is something I was talking to David Codrea about yesterday in the comments on my blog. I think campus carry is achievable, but it’s a big uphill battle. Mostly because the other side has a pretty easy time of painting college students as reckless, sex crazed drug abusing alcoholics, and college students aren’t known for standing up for themselves politically (note we still have a 21 drinking age). I’m glad these folks are standing up for themselves on campus, because that’s the only way we’re going to win on the issue.
The debate over primary and secondary schools seems to be starting a serious way, which is fine, but that’s climbing a mount compared to campus carry. Talk about carry in schools, and most people descend into PSH immediately.

Wonder how many students will be expelled or ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment for participating?

Good idea.
I agree with JayG – scary to have to have those concerns. … You express your opinion, you are required to undergo psych eval or counseling.

Jon and Jay G., don’t you also wonder how many of those “evaluators” will be those “others” listed in HR2640, capable of placing people on the restricted persons list?
Of course, under the Firearms Owners Protection Act, they can get their rights restored. Oh, wait, no they can’t! Damn! Well they can this time because they promised, sort of. Just like they did before.
