We often look at out kids and speculate on “Which side of the family did they inherit that from?” Kim looks so much like her mother and shares some personality traits, Xenia has my nose, James has my height and is the strictly rational thought type like me.
When the kids started using “bad words” there was no question… they got that from their mother.

“The other day I accidentally kicked the dog bowl. Bad words were said. Then Katie goes to Melissa. “Mommy, daddy said ‘F***ing dog bowl.’ ‘F***’ is a bad word.””
LOL! Many years ago a friend had a mina bird that he wanted to teach words to but the bird didnt pick up anything until my friend bashed his hand whiles doing some work in the kitchen, where the mina bird’s cage was. He yelled f**k! when he hurt himself and what did the bird start saying? F**K! over and over and over… It was so bad that he and wife had to but the bird in the garage whenever company came over.
I dont know what he ever did with that bird.

I didn’t realize how bad I was until one day my eldest son and I were coming home from somewhere, he was about five. Hell cars didn’t even have seatbelts then, let alone all the child restraint laws, etc., so he standing beside me as I drove. We got cut off by another car, I had to dynamite the brakes, I threw my arm out and stopped my son from going anywhere unhealthy for him and we stopped.
As I got the car in gear and ready to go again, my son looks at me with such pride in his knowledge and says “He’s a sonofabitch, isn’t he Daddy?” I managed to ameliorate the worst of it for a time, but with them all grown I slipped back into my construction days way of communication. Now my grandchildre are making we rethink it again. Dammit!
