UN report declares humans are the problem
Tipping point. We getting close to the point of no return. We’re all going to die.
The UN has just released a “major report”. The fourth Global Environmental Outlook since 1997. It contains dire warnings. It seems there are too many people on Planet Earth. We are actually killing the Planet.
Now before you consider the source and scoff, know this, 388 experts and scientists describe this as “the final wake-up call to the international community.”
“Life would be easier if we didn’t have the kind of population growth rates that we have at the moment,” Steiner said. “But to force people to stop having children would be a simplistic answer. The more realistic, ethical and practical issue is to accelerate human well-being and make more rational use of the resources we have on this planet.”
What does that mean? It means that the 388 scientists theorize that you eat too much, require too much land, too much energy, and too many resources. So stop having children, eating meat, and driving your fat ass around in that SUV, you damn Planet killer.
All kidding aside, is there a purpose to this continual fear mongering from the United Nations? An endgame so to speak.
Could it be a World Wide tax administered by the United Nations?

In their search for the mythic “sustainability” they seek controllable numbers – “Life would be easier” for THEM to manage populations in smaller numbers. Perhaps it means that heir own regulatory excrescences are overloading them and that The Global Bureaucracy is near implosion and collapse from its own dead weight?

You’re thinking too small, Uncle. Not a world tax. Think more of a world government with the UN at its center with them dictating to the countries of the world how, where and when what resources should be used.
Want to bet that the USA and the West would be high targets on the list when this body acts?
Wonderful, the dictators and thugs of the world given power to tell us how they think it should be run.

UN=Utter Nonsense
Remember when scientists were scientists, instead of hippie do-gooders bent on saving the world from the plague of humans?
More on this.
It is surprising the lengths the UN is going to so as to push their political agenda. It would be very stupid to ever allow the UN any real power.

When the carbon that fuels your fear is sequestered, you won’t feel a thing.

metulj, little surprise you would troll around this one. I always thought you were a candidate for a UN job some day in the future. It is down your alley.

These so called scientists are crazy. We do not have the capability to kill the earth, even if we had a full thermonuclear war, the earth would trundle on, unconcerned about the fleas on its back. It may be possible that we could alter the finite climate/environmental conditions in which we can live comfortably but if we disappear something will arise to take our place. Let us not miss that the so called environment movement is simple narcissistic delusion. Note that it is only those who do not have to fight with nature everyday for survival that have delusions humans can destroy the earth.

I think that we should remove some of the planet’s excess population, beginning with the UN bureaucracy, and anyone who ever proposed to give them money.

peak oil aftermath should take care of everything. it will be the ultimate revenge of those who keep the memory of the old ways alive. all the rest will be like that big white pet bunny my ex-wife ”freed” once.

If they’re hired by the UN then “scientist” is only a paper-label to cover their political and bureaucratic/managerial credentials.

“the final wake-up call to the international community”
Could this mean–dare I hope? That they’re going to shut the f*ck up?!?
…
Nah, probably just means we’re moving into the “post-final wake-up call” era. You know–nuance.
Dang it.

Granted, humans can’t destroy the earth or even eradicate all life thereon – life is damned tenacious.
However, we *can* render the planet’s environment such that the human race can’t maintain civilization or – worse – can’t survive as a species at all.

Good thing that article you linked to is fake and the UN has only good intentions for the freedom of Americans – I was about to start believing Ron Paul!!
