Quote of the day
And then you need to put that fury to good use.
Read the whole thing. You’ll be glad you did.
And then you need to put that fury to good use.
Read the whole thing. You’ll be glad you did.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Criminals are different from you and me. “Trust the criminal” seems to be the advice of many people. Just give them what they want and they will go away. I don’t trust the criminal. Place your trust in those who have earned it.

I am not going to trust a person whose motives are already suspect. If someone is holding a knife or gun on you, why on earth should I try to reason with such a person when they’ve indicated they have no desire to do so by their actions?
Why people can’t understand this is beyond me at times. They usually trot out the “reason to their better natures” argument. I’m with Heinlein. Man has no moral instinct, only cultivated consciences. Moral in the context of behavior is whatever is right to you to achieve your desired ends. If it works, it must be “moral”. Whether it is “right” depends on the society around you and how they judge such acts. Man himself has no natural “better nature” to appeal to. All morality is learned behavior.

The troll in the comments is annoying.
He later apologizes with the “anger not directed at you”. WTF?

What these people who talk about “reasoning” with a thug dont realize is that you cant reason with a unreasonable person.(libs come to mind here) The fact that the crim is holding a knife or gun on you is proof that he’s about as far from being reasonable as one can get.
If someone who’s getting held up wants to “reason” with his/her attacker, good luck to you because you’re gonna need it.
