Day Care Price Fixing

And by absorb the cost they mean turn people on welfare away.

It’s actually pretty ingenious, in an evil sort of way. The government needs people to depend on them. If those people on welfare could actually get assistance for day care, they might actually become self-sufficient. By doing this, the government gets to look like they really want to help, but it’s the evil, greedy day cares that are forcing them to stay on welfare and not get jobs.

I guess that the Day Care centers can just not accept the stipend babies….

I doubt that the government can force them to accept babies as Day Care is not a right…

Why do kids who’s mothers are on welfare need to go to a day care? Being on welfare=not working. Make those lazy parasites watch their own brats.

“Make those lazy parasites watch their own brats.”

The point of government subsidized welfare is so that the “welfare moms” can actually get jobs. In general, paying for their daycare is less expensive than paying for them to sit on their butts. But if they really got jobs, they might eventually stop voting democrat. So local government makes sure they can’t afford to leave the house to get a job, while making it look like it’s not their fault.

Actually, the day care can also make other day-care purchasers make up the difference, by charging higher rates across the board.

However, they would have to cap the stipended customers (as a percentage of total customer base), or else they will go out of business.

I’ve heard Medical Doctors say that they have this problem with Medicare/Medicaid. The government reimbursement doesn’t cover the costs of providing the service; hence, the doctor cannot stay in business if more than a minimum percentage of customers are Medicare/Medicaid customers.

Just one more way that the government can force some citizens to pay for other citizens’ perks.

An extension of karrde’s point is something that Hillary tried to do when she was First Lady. Several of my private clients are doctors (medical, dental, and therapy). Back in the 90’s they explained that her plan (which we now jokingly refer to as ‘HillaryCare’ had two points that really bothered them:

    – Health Care Professionals would receive a ‘stipend’ from the government. The lowest number would be $40,000 per year.

    – A HCP would be prohibited by law from asking for or accepting any payments from the patient in addition to the FedGov reimbursement. Asking for or offering would be a felony.

I don’t think people like that define ‘freedom’ the same way I do.

They will be forced by the govt to accept the welfare babies and eat the cost. Which, as would any business, they will pass on to thier paying customers. Some of which will no longer choose to pay for child care. This will cause some daycare centers to close. The do-gooders will then cry about a lack of child care availability and advocate for the government to fulfill this pressing need. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
