It is frightening to see such an un-educated man so thoroughly miss the point of the 2nd.

    Nick Milano writes on Thursdays.

Wonder what he does the rest of the week?

Too bad I can’t find the comments section (I can comment on the story, but I have no idea where the comments appear at).

the comment section wouldn’t accept mine. I don’t mean rejected them, wouldn’t let me post. His email address returns as invalid. Here is what I had to say. If anyone finds a way to make comment available to them, please copy and paste mine also. I am at the end of my technical skill, here. However, unlike Mr. Milano, I don’t write articles about that of which I know nothing. Ok, here’s my observation about “truly frightening”.**********

Having just read your editorial about the right to keep and bear arms, I too have discovered something “truly frightening”.

I am truly frightened that at some point in the future you will be loosed on the society with documentation that states you are educated. I do not see how that can be, given your lack of critical thinking skills. And it truly frightens me that you may end up in a decision making position still arrogant enough to believe you are philosophically, morally, and intellectually superior to the unique collection of geniuses that founded this nation on principles that are timeless and idealistic within the confines of human nature.

You need a lot more seasoning, before you are qualified to have an opinion. Do it again after you do some thinking of your own, when you can give an opinion that isn’t just parroting what you have always been told by people with an agenda that does not honor the individual.

Hell, you could use your own examples to prove the falsity of your position if you actually thought about them, rather than accepting what others told you those examples prove.

I predict you will not understand what I just said, refer to the part about “critical thinking skills”.

    Time to grow up.

    Extremely sincerely,

That whole thing was an exercise in not getting it.

“The kids on the corners of inner cities have guns made available because of the enormous illegal gun industry in this country”

Notice it’s always about “kids”? However, I’d like to ask Milano how he figures that stricter gun laws are gonna stop illegal aquisition of firearms when the present ones hav’nt been able to do so.

check this out Mr. Milano but dont fill yer drawers after viewing it.
    http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_gun_vio_hom_ove_hom_rat_per_100_pop-rate-per-100-000-pop
Keep in mind that most, if not all, of those countries that have a higher firearm related homocide rate than the USA have very strict gun laws!

“California with its population of over 36 million witnessed the deaths by gun of 3,323 people in 2004”

All those by guns eh? This shows 2395 total, from all homocide causes
    http://www.statemaster.com/graph/cri_hom_tot_num_of_vic-crime-homicide-total-number-victims
And of those 72.6% were caused by firearms which comes out to 1738, just over half of what Milano claims.

I noticed that Milano never posted links to his sources. Perhaps it’s because the little voices in his head have no links?

Tried a comment as well but I’m getting a page error. Damn it. I hate having to post a response to my blog instead of that article page. Figures. What crap server are they running, Win 3.11?

Looks like a lot of people are pissed and commenting.

  10. ben Says:

Cactus Jack, that also then shows that California had over 650 homicides that were not by firearm in one year. Compared the the firearm deaths in the UK over three years of 247, that says even more. California doesn’t have a firearms problem so much as it has a murder problem. Maybe they should ban murder in California.

  11. Ben Says:

Here is what I tried (unsuccessfully) to post in reply:

Exactly how many of the U.S. numbers were justifiable homicides? How many were suicides? How many were police shootings?

“only 247 shootings?” Perhaps you can explain why the Scots have to endure one highest violent crime rates in the industrialized world? Here is the answer and it’s very simple. Once you take self-defense tools away from the law-abiding, and once you stack the legal cards in favor of the criminal, you have what Scotland has become.

Perhaps some people shouldn’t leave comments…

  13. JustDoIt Says:

And this piece was from a “collegian”? What a pathetic reflection of our failed edumakashun system…

  14. Magus Says:

It is frightening to see such educated men so thoroughly defend the right to bear arms.

Not so frightening as seeing so many ignorant louts trying to legislate it away.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
