I have recently been looking at the various state laws regarding where a permitted owner may carry their loaded handgun.
Like Virgina Tech, almost all states have a prohibition against carrying on a college or university grounds.
With regard to the permitted lady that stopped the killer in the Colorado church, that is one of the few states that allows a permitted person to carry a loaded handgun in a place of worship.
Most states have laws that are too restrictive to provide the needed protection.
Was the stuff he said about knives legit? Maybe for the world, but are more folks killed in the USA with knives than with guns? From the data here, it seems that it’s not true:
The Commonwealth of Virginia does not ban guns on campuses (VCU excepted). Virginia Tech instituted their own gun ban, enforced by expulsion for students or termination for employees.
Non-students and non-employees are free to carry on campus in accordance with state law.
“…it is limited to elementary, middle, and high schools.”
Right. So if VA colleges ever allow concealed carry, the killers will be forced to go to the high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools to have their fun.

Thanks Ravenwood.
When I read “school property” I assumed this included universities. I now see it is limited to elementary, middle, and high schools.
