Zero Tolerance
Zero tolerance is working its magic again.
A ten year-old girl was suspended for using a knife to cut her food.
And, in Tennessee, you can’t defend yourself at school:
In a video, a 17-year-old student is seen grabbing Rachel Davis from behind. The video shows Davis turn and walk away.
The video shows the other student follow and confront her a second time.
Again, Rachel Davis turned and walked away.
The girl then followed her out of camera range. That is when the incident reportedly escalates.
Davis said, “My daughter was struck in the face with either a back pack or a purse. She got a laceration on her jaw required a trip to the ER and stitches.”
So, the girl walked away. Twice. And fought back after being hit. For that, she was suspended.

well the 2nd incident is just the liberal indoctrination of our kids. Fight back against an unprovoked attack and you will be punished. I’m only 22 but when I was a kid the school administrators would have actually tried to find out what happened and the kid who defended himself would not have been suspended.

My commitment to the State Apparatchiks and their insane decrees eclipsed some time ago. I think we’re on the verge of America of a new us vs them mentality: the sovereign individual vs the totalitarian state. Especially us as conservatives, with the only ideological stance against tyranny, need to stop preaching that anti-government means anti-American. I care solely for the rights of the American people and I will not goosestep in the hopes of insignificant changes while sacrificing my safety and the safety of the children.
Do any of you have children and love them? The state steals you money and then tells you your children must report to the local indoctrination hall until the age of 18. While there, any harm that befalls them is not the liability of the state whatsoever. Plus, the MOST DANGEROUS PART is that your children are taught in an environment where their 1st, especially 2nd, 4th and 5th amendment right are utterly disregarded!!! NO WONDER PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THEIR RIGHTS THESE DAYS! They were taught by a government beauraccrat to always compy with authority and were never taught their rights!!
AMAZING! And gee, why is it that the only politician that gets my attention is Paul? Huckaflop is sending christmas cards and romney is crying over mormanism while your children are being indoctrinated as subjects??? My kids won’t be subjects – and I’m sure your kids would love working for my kids as they will be in dire need of a new master once the current band of theifs are done away with.

“The Williamson County policy urges students to avoid conflict by finding an adult”
That’s a solution? Hell, the “adults” in that school district are the ones who created the fucked up rules! If a kid that was being attacked did run to a teacher, or whatever, the kid would probably still get suspended for “causing trouble”. That did happen at my daughter’s high school.

Those people who claim liberalism is a mental disorder, they are beginning to make some sense. What is the hell is happening to this country?
Are sporks the future? I guess the government will cut our food for us.

I agree with a lot of what HardCorps says.
In a more perfect world, the principal would need to enter a witness protection program after doing this to a child.
I would like to see the NEA weigh in on this PC-driven fascism.

Had that happened to one of my sons, it would be the last foot he ever set in any building in that or any other public skool district.

When I was in high school, this happened all the time. Some kid would get jumped by six gang members, and while they were trying to put him in the hospital the [in]security guards literally RAN the other direction. When the gang members were tired of beating the kid, they all got suspended for – wait for it – MUTUAL COMBAT.
My thought? No part of any district policy SUPERCEDES state criminal code. So, if the District wants to suspend my kid for defending his life, I’ll add them to the list of people to sue.

Well, I can tell you that it happened to a child of mine, but he knew how to protect himself. Though jumped from behind, he beat the his attacker down. The kid that attacked him was a football star at the school and feared by nearly everyone. It wasn’t his first time to do this to someone, just his first time to get his ass whipped doing it. Funny, though, he always managed to be off suspension in time for the Friday night game.
When the principal notified my wife and me that our son was to be suspended from school for fighting, I visited the school. I took my son with me to the principal’s office.
I asked him if he thought self defense was not an affirmative defense against punishment. He said that he didn’t view it that way, that my son was involved in a fight and therefore would be suspended.
I told him to place two calls, one to the police and one for an ambulance because I was going to come over his desk and beat the Hell out of him. If he resisted or tried to defend himself, he had better resign because it was his policy that self defense was not a bar to punishment and that it would be worse next time if he didn’t resign. If he didn’t resist then he was going to be short a lot of teeth and wearing a lot of plaster of paris for a long time.
He seemed to think “That’s different.” I replied “I don’t view it that way.”
My son did not get suspended.
There were no facts in dispute. Just a dispute over the proper course of action. Mine was proper. His was not.
Now, this is going to piss a lot of you off, but if a man who hasn’t got the balls to defend his family doesn’t deserve them. Every time you give in is an encouragement for them to take more the next time. If any of you respond in a lesser manner, I consider you lesser men.
Arrogant? NO! There are so damn few of us like me and men I respect that we get tired carrying your weight. Cowboy up, Goddammit!
This preemptive surrender horseshit has got to stop. You don’t know if you can win if you don’t try.

Once again proving that Zero Tolerance = Zero brains.

When we were living in California we had an incident with one of our children where they defended themself against an unprovoked attack. When the school tried to suspend them both, I pointed out that the state constitution stated that no government body could punish someone for exercising their right to self defense.
They argued with me on it for a while, but in the end only the other child got suspended.

Just say no to government indoctrination centers.

If one cannot stand up to petty tyrants what makes them think they will develop the courage to defy grand tyranny?
