As I commented on his thread, I’m pretty sure it is not legal in Cali. The criteria to which he refers (folding stock, bayonet lug, etc.) are used to determine whether an otherwise permissible firearm (e.g., a Mini-14) should be considered an “assault” weapon. The AR-15 is banned by name.
Never mind, I missed the part about the receiver not being on the banned list; apparently, it’s not a banned AR-15 because under Cali law, it’s technically not an AR-15 at all.
Yes during the cultural revolution where were some ‘odd laws and practices’ such as mass starvation and relocation. Instead of breaking the chains of tyranny in California, they cover them up and walk within the length of their leases never eager to test how strong they really are. I would find such traits in a dog undesirable, but I suppose courage and fortitude are traits we will see even less of in the future.
OK, now I feel real dumb. Why the f*** did I wait until early 2006 to get my Stag-15, when I could have had the same damned gun, minus a folding stock I couldn’t give a rat’s a** about anyway, one week after the federal ban expired in 2004?
