Dumb laws
In Jersey, it looks as though the bill requiring reporting of a theft of guns in some arbitrary amount of time is set to pass. Now, when you’re burgled, you may be victimized twice. Another gun law that only makes life difficult for the law-abiding.

These laws set up registration and penalties later if you can’t account for the firearms they think you have or had. They aren’t about burglary.
When firearms are confiscated, you won’t be able to say you don’t have any, sold them, lost them, et, et. You’ll be heavily penalized unless you can account for every one, and they will be confiscating those ones.

NJ already has firearms registration, at least for handguns. This is a stupidly pointless law F enforce the laws against straw purchase ad transfer to a non-permitted person. IIRC there is no “gun show loophole” in NJ, you have to run a background check on private sales. I know you do for handgun sales (ok, techically you can’t transfer without the state running one).
