In Cali, they want to put in thermostats that can be controlled remotely by the government. You can’t make this stuff up.

Unbelievable! So you go take a nap & wake up either freezing or frying because the government changed your thermostat temperature to save electricity. You’re right, can’t make this stuff up. Truth really is stranger than fiction!

I left California about 6-7 years ago and they were already using remotely controlled thermostats back then. Granted, it was mostly commercial users that opted for it, and it was voluntary, but they gave you a reduced rate on your bill if you had one installed.
I lived in an area served by a utility company that made more electricity than their customers consumed. Did that mean we didn’t have to worry about being hit by rolling blackouts? Of course not! That wouldn’t be fair. Every area, regardless of how inadequate your own power company was at producing the juice their customers needed, was equally subjected to them.
Just one more reason why I left the Golden State.
