Excellent news. Hopefully this will finally bring an end to this type of abuse of power & waste of public resources to attack gun rights by local governments.

I know that this wasn’t a suit to which Rudy (remember him?) was a party, but didn’t he participate in or sponsor a similar suit in NY?

Remember, this was the suit against “machine gun” manufacturers. The DC law at issue allowed gunshot victims of any type to recover their medical costs in full from the companies who manufactured any gun that COULD fire more than 12 rounds before needing a reload. The term used was “absolutely liable” for the injuries; even if the gun was illegal to buy, sell, or own in DC, liability attached..

I forgot to add, DC never actually proved that any manufacturers’ gun was actually used to shoot the victims. DC was a party to the case in an attempt to recover tax-funded medical expenses. And DC law defined “machine gun” using the 12-round definition.
